I know this isn't a question but I read the website for iLoveSchools and I think it's such a great foundation. I think one reason why I like it so much is because it is a non-profit organization and it matches the donations of the donors. The donor is able to select which teacher receives the school equipment or teaching supplies.
That is a very cool site Vicky. Thanks for your suggestion to visit it. It's nice to see that there are organizations out there that have the school's best interest in mind. We should all keep this site handy when we are teaching in our own classrooms. I bet they would help us just like they have everyone else. It's a great idea!

I think open educational resources would be beneficial to use in my future classroom. There is so much information that is really useful through searching the internet. Anything can be changed around to better meet the needs of your students. Teachers can share their ideas freely with each other and reflect upon what they could do better or how they could improve their lessons. I’ve seen many teachers who just pull out the same plans every year as if they had the same students. Each year the student’s needs are very different and it’s important to keep up to date on strategies to engage students and activities that meet their specific needs. A lot of times their lessons are good, but it’s good to change things around and try new ideas. Using these open educational resources could be an extension of lessons outside of the classroom. Since there is so much to learn in the classroom and not enough days in the school year to learn it all, using these resources can help to extend learning and engage students in the activities.
